I have the HORI joycon charging station that charges 4 joycons at once. I decided to get this because I had more joycons and my pro controller that also needed to be on a charging station. Like many reviews that I read, I had issues right out of the box. However, mine now works perfectly and didn’t involve me taking it apart and replacing it with a new one several times. So I figured I’d come on here and try to help some of you out. The pro controller needs to be lined up just right, yeah it may be a little annoying to have to go over and push the magnetic prong system down, but once it’s in place correctly it charges and the light indicator pops on. Over time, it will become second nature. I also had the problem where one side refused to charge and started blinking at me. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in. That is the first thing you need to do to trouble shoot this kind of thing. After that, same thing happened. Until I finally figured out what it was. My switch was on and the joycon it refused to charge was the one blinking. I turned off my switch, made sure my joycon disconnected, and put it back on. Just like that the red light came on and I could see that all 3 of my controllers were charging. Just my little tidbits of advice to try to save you from getting frustrated and sending it back 5 times 🙂 After a few days of using it, I love it. It’s nice to go to play on my tv without my pro controller always being dead, and I like that it holds an extra set of joycons. This product is not without flaw, but that’s just electronics!

This device charges the Joycons properly (albeit slowly) but it is very finicky when charging the Pro Controller.
I connected it exactly per the instructions and the light came on the charger indicating that the Pro Controller was charging, but the orange light on the controller itself did not light up, which means that it was NOT actually charging. Sure enough, left it overnight and the Pro Controller battery was still dead. I removed and reinserted the dongle for the Pro Controller and re-seated it in the charger and the device’s light turned on as usually but still wasn’t charging the controller. Redid it all again and it finally started charging. Though any slight bump causes it to misalign and then you have to play with it to find the magic spot to make it line up with the contacts and start charging again. It’s finicky and frustrating.
When the Joycons finish charging, the lights on the device turn from red to green to indicate that charging is complete. However, this never happens for the Pro Controller. The Pro Controller will eventually finish charging and its own orange charging light turns off, but the red light on this device stays on and stays red. It never changes to green to indicate that charging the controller is complete.
This device also charges VERY slowly. It took about six hours to charge a pair of Joycons. Connected to the Switch itself in handheld mode, Joycons will fully charge in under an hour. Six hours to charge when connected to a power source? That’s just unacceptable. I even tried a high wattage phone/tablet charger and plugged this device’s USB cable into that and it still charged slowly.
The USB cable for this device is rated as 36 inches long, but it starts from the front of the bottom of the device and has a permanent grommet on the cable designed to fit in a cut-out in the back, so you’re already losing about 4 inches right there. The underside is moulded in a way that you can wind up the USB cable when not in use, but this device is a bit too large to be travelling with so that feature just isn’t very useful. When plugged in, you cannot use this feature for cable management because of the way the cable is designed. So that’s a missed opportunity right there.
For what you get, this product should have been much less expensive. This device WILL charge your Joycons and Pro Controller, but it will do it slowly and it’s finicky. I generally expect more from a PowerA product.

This is a great accessory to have if you have a Pro controller and an extra set of joy cons for the Switch.
I don’t give it 5 stars only because the way that the charging for the Pro controller is possible is by connecting this chunky accessory to it and when you place the controller down on the station you have to really push it in there and make sure the light turns on so you’re sure that is charging, unlike the PS5 controllers charging station that has a softer more aesthetically pleasing design.
Now it is up to you if you are fine with those details, but I would totally recommend it, there are not many options out there better than this one.
