I Own sony 85 mm and sigma 24-70. I am not satisfied with sigma. Sony 85mm gives much more better result than Sigma 24-70. Having said that I dont have any experience with sigma prime lenses.

Mein Eindruck:
Das Sigma 24-70mm F2,8 DG DN Art ist wie ein treuer Begleiter, den man immer dabei haben möchte. Es ist so vielseitig, dass ich es für fast alles verwende, von Landschaften bis hin zu Portraits. Und die Lichtstärke? Einfach genial!
Die Verarbeitung ist top, es fühlt sich an wie ein echtes Premium-Produkt.
Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war der Staub in der Linse. Aber hey, Amazon hat das super geregelt und mir einfach ein neues Objektiv geschickt. Das nenne ich mal Kundenservice!
Fazit:
Wenn du nach einem zuverlässigen, vielseitigen und lichtstarken Objektiv suchst, das nicht die Bank sprengt, dann ist das Sigma 24-70mm F2,8 DG DN Art genau das Richtige für dich. Es hat mich absolut überzeugt und ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen!

I was in a fix and not able to decide which lens to buy that could fulfil all the requirements as I had the budget to buy only one lens. After extensive time on the internet, I decided to give this lens a shot and now after using the product for 2 days, I am so happy about the choice I made. I own the Sony a7R III with the standard 28-70 zoom lens. Once I put this on my camera, I practiced a few macro, night shots, and some day as well. It was exemplary on all fronts and the professional quality far exceeded the kit lens. It has a quick autofocus, a clarity, color and contrast that most consumers and pros would find it their go-to lens. The bokeh is creamy and pleasing. I am not a pro any by any means, but my images are starting look that way. It is a perfect companion to the a7RIII and the a7III and the a7II.
This is not for portability as the lens weighs 1.8 lbs. I can fit the camera and lens in my backpack with no sweat. I’m sure there are pros out there with bodies and glass that offer capabilities that trounce my gear.. It’s not optically perfect and distorts at 24 mm. The corners are soft, and the reverse direction zoom ring took a bit of getting used to. Yet, most things are fixable in post and with 42 megapixels, I have plenty of pixels to frame the shot it slightly outside the composition and crop off the edges.
If you want to take your photography to the next level, this is the lens. The Sony G equivalent is twice the price and better in many respects. The question is, is the additional $1200 premium price worth it? I don’t and I am simply ecstatic over this slightly imperfect yet stunning lens.
The images are macros I took the night I got it and couldn’t sleep! The other is my living room.

Più che una recensione è un primo contatto, dopo averlo provato qualche giorno e visionato qualche foto di prova.
Per le recensioni approfondite fate una ricerca in rete perché già c’è ne sono diverse.
La richiesta per questo nuovo Sigma 24-70 è molto alta, tanto che Sigma ancora non riesce a tenere testa a tutte le richieste nei vari mercati mondiali. Anche su amazon la disponibilità è piuttosto limitata con vendite che vanno un pò a singhiozzo e spesso con attese più lunghe del solito.
In tutto questo mi sento un pò fortunato. Avevo adocchiato questa lente da tempo, per sostituire il Tamron 28-75 e sono riuscito a prenderlo quando su amazon era a 1038€, con un attesa di almeno una settimana prima della spedizione.
In realtà l’attesa poi è durata un pò meno ed il prezzo, al momento in cui scrivo, è tornato a superare i 1300€, il che mi fa credere di aver preso un bel colpo di fortuna.
Aprendo una piccola parentesi sul Tamron, vorrei condividere velocemente la mia esperienza con quella lente dalla resa molto buona ma con diversi difetti. Uno su tutti i 28mm minimi. Sembra poca differenza da i 24mm ma personalmente mi sono sempre mancati ogni volta che ho utilizzato il tamron. Inoltre la costruzione lascia molto a desiderare. Ok le dimensioni ed il peso ne fanno un ottimo compagno di viaggio, ma il fatto che non è tropicalizzato ne limita molto l’utilizzo.
La mia copia, infatti, dopo un anno di utilizzo aveva raccolto una quantità esagerata di polvere sotto la lente principale tanto che mi sono deciso di mandarlo in assistenza, scrivendo sul foglio di riparazione il problema e specificando che secondo me c’era qualche guarnizione difettosa.
L’assistenza mi ha rimandato il tamron pulito, e nel referto dei lavori c’era scritto solo “pulizia”, il che mi ha lasciato intendere che non è stata fatta nessuna operazione di riparazione. La cosa interessante poi è che la pulizia l’hanno passata in assistenza, il che mi ha fatto pensare che Tamron è a conoscenza di questo problema e pulisce le lenti sotto garanzia senza chiedere soldi per la riparazione. Cosi ho deciso di venderlo per prendere il Sigma, prima di ritrovarmelo di nuovo con una spiaggia sotto il vetro.
Passando al Sigma, lo sto utilizzando da pochi giorni giusto per delle prove, quindi per il momento non posso far altro che condividere le mie sensazioni in questo primissimo contatto.
La prima cosa che si nota è la costruzione. Davvero ben fatta. In confronto al Tamron questo sigma è un macigno, anche come peso perchè prendendolo in mano si sentono tutti i suoi 600 e passa grammi.
La costruzione è molto buona, mi è piaciuto molto il tasto di blocco af sulla lente perchè è gommato e molto piacevole da premere.
Il peso si sente tenendo la fotocamera in mano.
Io l’ho “smorzato” montando il grip Meike MK-X1EM con il quale l’impugnatura migliora sensibilmente.
Ad un prezzo attuale di 49€ è sicuramente un acquisto che vi consiglio, tenendo in considerazione però che bisogna smontarlo per cambiare la batteria. Se non avete necessità di essere sempre pronti (come ad esempio un matrimonio) non sarà di certo un problema, anche perchè le ultime Sony si ricaricano tramite porta usb.
La ghiera dello zoom si gira in modo molto precisa ed ha anche una levetta di blocco, che consente di bloccare il barilotto dell’ottica e non farlo aprire durante il trasporto o quando si tira fuori la fotocamera dallo zaino.
La cosa bella di questo blocco è che andando a ruotare di nuovo la ghiera senza averlo tolto, questo si toglie da solo con un semplice “click”. Davvero una bella cosa!
Riguardo alla qualità, da queste prime prove mi sembra molto buona! ho apprezzato molto lo sfocato perchè è davvero “dolce”, molto meglio di quello “nervoso” del Tamron.
Anche la nitidezza sembra davvero elevata. Come gia letto in giro si nota un pò di perdita qualitativa ai bordi, specialmente ad f2,8.
Non è esagerata, e chiudendo il diaframma anche di poco la nitidezza aumenta. Comunque per come la vedo io e per il mio modo di scattare, avere quel pizzico di nitidezza in meno ai bordi ad f2,8 non è assolutamente un problema, in quanto un buon 90% degli scatti fatti ad f2,8 sono ritratti dove il soggetto è in genere posizionato centralmente, comunque mai negli angoli della foto.
Magari vi saprò dire in tra qualche tempo, quando l’avrò utilizzata più a fondo ed avrò un bel po di immagini per verificarne la qualità, per ora è assolutamente PROMOSSA ed ho fatto bene a preferirla al Tamron.
AGGIORNAMENTO MARZO 2022
Sono passati due anni da quando ho acquistato questo sigma. Ci ho fatto un viaggio, 6 matrimoni e foto sparse.
Sicuramente è pesante e per i viaggi, viste anche le uscite, forse è il caso di cercare altro (tipo il sigma 28-70).
Però per lavoro, quindi negli eventi, è un ottica fenomenale, di grande qualità, ottimo autofocus. Un ottica super resistente.
Le prime versioni avevano problemi di infiltrazione della polvere, anche il mio l’ha avuta.
L’ho mandata in assistenza e mi hanno sostiuito i pezzi difettati in garanzia, quindi posso essere soddisfatto.
Sarà con me per molto tempo anche in futuro!

I’ve owned both this Sigma 24-70 as well as the Sony G-Master equivalent.
At a fraction of the price, this Sigma is a great unit.
In one aspect, it outperformed my Sony G master, the G master flared in a bizarre circular manner that felt like they missed the sides of the front element when it came time to give it the special coating.
In other aspects it performs similar to the G master, the handling and accuracy of the AF is fine. However, it is noticeably slower than the Sony 24-70. If that matters to you, then I would recommend sticking with the Sony, if you can get by with missing some moments here and there then this lens should be fine for you.
