This “Nano” usb WiFi adaptor gives every appearance of being a decent product. It comes in a box with a small manual and a mini cd disc with drivers for Windows (Which you don’t reall need for Windows 10), Mac, Linux and Android. The adapter itself appears to be well made, and fits snugly into the USB port. When plugged in, Windows 10 detected it and installed drivers, and it connected to my network. The computer I bought this for is at the other end of my (Small) house from the DSL Modem/WiFi ruter, so I wasn’t expecting super hi speed connection. I do have an Echo Dot, and a Google Chromecast in the room, both of which connect fine. This adapter was dlow, but adequate. Ooh, Aaah! But then the running and screaming…
Aproximately 10 minutes later, it disconnected from the net, and caused my computer to flip out, repeatedly connecting and disconnecting, with accompanying (and Annoying) sound fx) Over and Over. Pulling the Adapter out and reinserting it didn’t help. Rebooting didn’t help. At most I could get a few minutes of connectivity.before the spirit killing disconnections began. I tried bringing my computer out to the room with the DL WiFi router, and this helped the connection strength, and not solve the disconnect problem. I tried it on another Windows 10 computer, which is literall a foot away from the DSL Modem,but it was much the same, works for a while, then flakes out. I tried both comuters with and without the included drivers. I don’t have a Mac, so couldn’t try that.
My conclusion: not only does this not work, it cannot work. In order to make this so cheap, the manufacturer crossed the line between inexpensive, basic but funtional to cheap, non-working junk. I suppose I should return this, but frankly, it’s just not worth the bother, especially since Amazon apparently penalyzes people for too many returns.

It works well. Purchaced specifically to use while testing Linux distributions, as I don’t have a direct connection to my wifi router, and my built in WiFi card is simply not supported. Most major distros work out of the box like Ubuntu and Elementary os, but the drivers had to be built using Archbang and I think Manjaro. The connection itself is sub-par/weak so I can’t give it a great rating, but as far as driver support – it’s hard to beat. Overall a great buy for the price.

First off it works as intended just like the few other nano wireless adapters I run and bought for others regardless of brand. It’s a single band 2.4Ghz adapter so if your not sure just remember there are 2 versions of this, one does 2.4 and one does both 2.4 and 5Ghz. They are called dual band and your router or internet modem has to offer dual band channels. Ok that aside, this adapter for it’s super low price works really well. It’s USB end is slightly longer than other adapters meaning it sticks out a millimeter or so more no biggie! There’s an included CD to install the driver and/or wireless connectivity software. That’s the nice part if you didn’t catch what I said, when you run the software there’s an option to install just the driver or the driver and connection software. On Windows 7 the software isn’t necessary so just install the driver and you’ll see the adapter appear down by the clock (right bottom corner). In Windows 10 the driver CD isn’t necessary as Win10 finds the correct driver and installs it seamlessly once you insert the adapter. For techies that care the adapter that installs is a Ralink RT2870 adapter which you can find the drivers for if you don’t have a CD drive on your computer to install the driver.

Right out of the box plug and play very simple works well with Windows I had bought another wi-Fi plug-in lasted a little over a month. The design of that one was not good it stuck out way too far out of the USB port and eventually wiggle waggle till it broke. The new one doesn’t extend very far from the port. Although it’s only been a couple of days since I have it I believe this design is much much better and hopeful it will work work work for a long period of time.
