The instructions in the installation booklet were vague which complicated the installation process. To make matters worse, the supplied driver disk had no set up files for Windows machines despite having complete files for Linux and Mac OS. Fortunately I had retained the driver disk from a different adapter which allowed me to get up and running but could have been a real problem.

On the bad, it’s fairly big, clunky and doesn’t look smooth and or nice.
On the plus, I plugged played and forgot about it until sitting in Covid lockdown and seeing the outstanding review. fact is it works so well I’ve forgotten it’s there. I did hide it on an USB port at the rear of the PC as you certainly couldn’t miss it otherwise, but hidden from sight it’s working well and doing what I needed it for so I’m satisfied for the price paid.

Mit diesem ursprünglich unbeabsichtigten Reim lässt sich der Stick ganz gut beschreiben. Ich habe ihn als Ersatz für den doppelt so teuren Fritz WLAN Stick N gekauft, der selbst nach einem Umtausch durch Amazon noch eine unterirdische Verbindung herstellte. Zur Kritik: ganz perfekt ist die Verbindung auch mit diesem Stick nicht. Beim Online-Spielen gibt es regelmäßige Ping-Spikes, also vereinfacht ausgedrückt verlängerte Übertragungszeiten. Das ist allerdings wirklich in überschaubarem Maß vorhanden und nicht wie bei dem Modell von AVM, der ein Spiel erst gar nicht möglich machte. Der Stick hat im Ping-Test in der CMD keine Paketverluste, lediglich hin und wieder Ausreißer nach oben. Ebenfalls schade: die sehr dürftige Beschreibung des Produktes. Wenn Amazon schon eigene Produkte vertreibt, könnte man erwarten, dass einige Spezifikationen genannt werden. Ob er 5 GHz unterstützt war russisches Roulette. Und nein, tut er nicht. Das stört mich allerdings auch weniger, da die Reichweite dadurch weiter dezimiert würde, was die Vorteile von einem 5GHz-Band weit übersteigt. Entgegen einer anderen Rezension kann ich sagen: der Stick funktioniert unter Windows 10, wie die Überschrift bereits sagt, sofort. Einstecken und loslegen. Ganz anders als der Fritz-Stick, den ich für einen neuen PC gekauft habe und der durch seine komische Installationssoftware aus dem Jahr 2003 das automatische Laden von Updates während der Windows-Installation unmöglich machte.
Alles in Allem: für den Preis absolut ok, wenn man auf 5 GHz verzichten kann. Die China-Sticks, die ansonsten hier vertrieben werden, haben dieses Feature für 5 € mehr.

as with most units of this type it gets hot and dosnt like constant use over 2 hours i had this unit replaced once in the year i owned it from amazon and it broke again within 3 months of that i gave up the units construction was good and strong its a shame the internals didnt match the outer casing with is way oversized. when connected it did transfer files between network and device as long as it was under a reasonable 20gb size as more than that the unit would heat up over the processes and cut out forcing you to restart the whole transfer.

My Experience: Installation was super easy. I just inserted Airtel prepaid SIM and started the device, that’s it!! Changing SSID and password was very easy and was no brainer. Also tried to switch to another network, Jio prepaid by changing SIM and that too simply worked flawlessly!! Battery Performance : After few hours of playing, I charged the battery to 100%. It lasted around 10 hrs with full usage. I am mazed with the build quality and super easy user interface. I liked this product and would certainly recommend this product.

I recently purchased the Amazon Basics WiFi Dongle with high hopes of improving my internet connectivity. Unfortunately, this product turned out to be a complete disappointment from the moment I tried to set it up.
First off, the installation process was an absolute nightmare. The included instructions were vague and poorly written, leaving me puzzled about the correct steps to follow. After spending an unreasonable amount of time fumbling through the setup, I managed to connect the dongle to my computer.
But the troubles didn’t end there. The dongle’s performance was abysmal at best. I experienced constant drops in connection, rendering it almost unusable for any online activity. Even when it was connected, the speed was nowhere near what was promised. I could barely load a webpage without encountering endless buffering.

I purchased this adapter in the hope that it would give a stronger signal, because my current USB Adapter ( sans aerial ) was giving a slightly erratic signal and a maximum throughput of 65 Mbps. I now get the maximum that my Sky router will give which is 144 Mbps. inSSider shows a near constant stream as opposed to the original adapter. Several of the previous reviews commented on the supplied driver disc in the Windows mode does not work. I didn’t bother with the disc I went to the ” Amazon.com ” and searched for the adapter. Once there I clicked on the “Windows ” in the following line which is at the bottom of the main text. ( Click the following links to download drivers for the AmazonBasics Wi-Fi 11N USB Adapter. Windows or Mac ). When downloaded locate the file and then click on it two or three times and it will open. Then select Setup..
