Gopi –
I was looking for an Intel 12th Gen H series (12450 and 12500h) laptop for quite some time. Some of my other requirements were following:
– 100% SRGB non oled display. I do not trust OLED for long term use, due to potential burn in issues.
– Under 60K
– 15inch atleast. – Do not plan to travel with it much.
– Intel Evo Certification – It ticks many additional requirements.
It was almost impossible to find a laptop with all my requirement until, I found this on Prime day, I found this 16GB laptop for 55K. With additional 4K discount I bought this laptop for 51K.
Initial impressions:
-Great Display: 8 bit, 60Hz display. It gets pretty brighter. If the specs are correct, then it should be 400 nits.
-Build quality: Looks clean and neat. Lid is metal and rest of the body is plastic. Lightweight. Hopefully it will last atleast 6 years as I do not prefer to upgrade laptop much often.
-Performance: H series laptop is the best you can get for the price. Not planning to play any games. 12 cores should be more than enough for anything else.
– Speaker: The sound is crisp and there is a good stereo separation. Definitely as par or better than any other mid range laptops. Do not expect any bass. It gets adequately loud, but not going to fill a room. Recommending an external speaker or headset for multimedia contents.
– Good Connectivity: 2 full size USB and 2 Thunderbolt 4 type c ports.
– Type C charger: It was a surprise to see a 90w type c charger in the box. Its small in size too.
– 70wh battery: I haven’t tested the battery yet. But with Intel Evo requirement, the battery shouldn’t be a concern in balanced performance mode.
– Bluetooth 5.3: This was a rare feature in this price range. Downloaded the latest driver from Intel directly.
– Office 2021: Some laptops use to skip this feature.
Negatives:
– Only one SSD slot as per specs: 512GB is going to fill soon. Will have to replace the drive and reinstall everything in future. Should support upto 2tb.
– DDR4 only: A DDR5 support would have made the laptop bit more future proof.
– The full device spec was missing in Asus website. Asus is marketing only OLED models this days.
– Webcam could have been 1080p
– Card slot missing. Not sure when I used it last. But there will be those who requires it more often.
Suggestion to people who are buying this:
– Do not rely on Windows 11 update for Driver updates. Suggested to use “intel driver and support assistant” software and update the drivers. Especially Bluetooth and Wifi drivers.
– Use a cooling pad if you use high performance mode more often. H series intel processor means lot of heat.
– Get the warranty extended to maximum possible. Check in the asuspromo website for any current promotions and utilize it. I bought Warranty Extension Upto 3 Years + 3 Years LADP@ Rs.2999.
– My Windows update for April was stuck and couldn’t be installed. I downloaded the latest Windows 11 image and reinstalled/updated the OS while keeping the data and apps.
Additional hardware specs:
– Micron 2450 SSD PCIe Gen 4
– Intel Wifi 6E AX211 160MHz, BT 5.3 support
– RAM: 1x8GB: Micron MTA8ATF1G64HZ-3G2
1x8GB: Samsung M471A1G44BB0-CWE
August Update:
– Upgraded SSD to 2TB Samsung 980 Pro. Getting 6844MB/s Read and 5121MB/s Write speeds

I got this laptop at around 53k and it is amazing. Usually it sells around 60k to 65k but dont buy it at this price wait for the price to come down.If you buy 8 gb variant you can upgrade upto 20 gb
Pros:
1.An amazing processor
2.Great battery life of around 7 to 8 hours on light usage and around 3 to 4 on heavy usage(gaming)
3.Build quality
Cons:
1.Speaker it is below average
2.Glitches and bugs
3.Whenever I charge my laptop while i am using it, the charger gets extremely hot

I’m writing this review after using it for 2 weeks.
I have got this in prime day sale for 52990 for 8gb ram variant (which i’d not recommend) (you can get it for even less with card offers) .
Positives:
1. Display rating- 4/5: 15.6inch Good display with very good colors and viewing angles are also decent
Idk if it’s exactly 100% srgb and i have checked with HW INFO 64 for panel details and it says the model is “CHEI MEI CMN152D (N156HCE-EN1)
The panel is close to 100% srgb (above 90% srgb) when i googled the model no., you can also try.
2. Performance( rating 4/5): Very good with i5 12500H processor for Casual usage like
i. Watching 4k videos/Movies
ii. Programming (VS code)
iii. Browsing with multiple tabs (10+ tabs)
Ps: i haven’t tried gaming on it as it has only iGPU sorry for that.
Also there are not heating issues with light usage on efficiency mode. I haven’t tried using in high performance mode so can’t comment.
3. Battery -(rating 3.5/5): Battery life will be more than 6hrs+ if use it from 100% to 0%.
I’m getting around 3-4hrs of SOT from 80% to 20%
with battery efficiency mode on and continuous usage of wifi, Bluetooth, watching YouTube,
Coding etc.
4. Keyboard (4/5): Is very good with 3 levels of Adjustable brightness and verygood typing experience ( same with the Track pad)
5. Build quality (4/5): It’s decent with Metal lid on the Top and Plastic build for remaining
6. Design is very sleek with slim bezels of display, but with 1.8kg of weight feels slightly on the heavier side.
7. Most important It has a Numpad as it’s a 15.6 inch model
8. Comes with MS OFFICE 2021 LIFE TIME VALIDITY.
Now coming to Negatives:
1. Speakers: 1/5
Not very loud you can’t hear that much, you would definitely need a pair of headphones or an external speaker if you like watching content.
2. Idk if it’s issue with mine but getting some squeaky noice when i press the left side of Laptop bottom and also while opening of hinge.
3. DON’T BUY 8GB RAM I REPEAT DON’T BUY 8GB RAM AS IT HAS 4GB SOLDERED+4GB IN SLOT (you can expand ram of 1 slot upto 16gb but Dual channel Ram won’t work as it will be 4+16gb so buy only 16gb ram even it’s more costly).
4. Webcam – (1/5 ) 720p in 2023 is not good but comes with a privacy shutter
Verdict:
Go for this laptop in a sale only if you don’t use it for gaming It’s an underrated laptop
Best price to buy : 52990 for 8gb ram
57990 for 16gb ram

I searched for H series processor Laptops and I found this one after so much of searching.. Used for 1 month and its the best one in this price range.. Everything is nice.. Battery life is awesome and quick charger support.. The only thing is we cannot extend the graphic card.. It comes with integrated graphics Iris.. The other con I can say is Screen (dark colors espcially black (night effects in movies) in movies not properly visible).. However, If you are buying for multitasking, coding, Servers installation, etc.. Go for it..
