Bought this (GV601RE) laptop offline about 3 months back.
I have gone through many bad reviews about this product on both ASUS and Amazon. Most of them don’t seem to understand the difference between an OS problem (Windows 11 has not matured yet even at the time of writing this; it eventually will) and a hardware problem (save for a few actually hardware-oriented reviews).
Issues like:
1) Frequent restarts and BSOD: I did face these right after unboxing. What I did was activate my (included) Office license and Game Pass trial and cleany reinstall Win 11. After this, performed Windows Update and also updated all included Windows Store apps. Only then did I start using it for everyday tasks. I have not had any problems so far. In general, this should be done for every new or preowned Windows laptop one buys no matter the brand.
2) Keyboard latching glitch: This is also a Windows 11 glitch. I haven’t figured it out yet but I read that it has something to do with Windows Power Saving modes. It’s been a month since I last experienced this glitch. Perhaps it’s because I update my Windows regularly.
3) WiFi delayed-connect on startup: When the laptop boots up or comes out of sleep, WiFi doesn’t connect right-away to the network. I sometimes have to turn off and on the WiFi toggle in the taskbar. I haven’t figured this out either. It looks like a driver problem which will eventually get fixed.
Coming to my review:
This is a beautiful laptop.
The Windows Hello-enabled webcam works only 80% of the time for login. The camera itself is of decent quality. Camera is a 7/10.
Keyboard is good and I like typing on it. The middle of the keyboard can get uncomfortably hot during heavy use.
Touchpad is very smooth (control-wise, not physically); I like it too.
Build feels good.
It does tend to heat up from time to time even in Power Saving and Silent modes.
Screen colours are good; blacks are good; viewing angles are good; touch is accurate. I like that I can open the lift by just lifting on the screen instead of also having to hold the rest of the body down. The lid tends to bend over if the laptop is lifted moderately quickly.
The speakers are amazing! Awesome frequency response across the spectrum. Can be very crisp, detailed and loud. Do use them with the Dolby driver and companion app.

This Laptop is truly awesome when it comes to overall performance. It’s packed with so many features that is an amalgamation of all. I’ll suggest it to everyone who wants to get one stop solution for a
a) 360 convertible
b) Good Touch (Finger and Pen)
c) Gaming (Good Refresh rate + Good Graphics performance)
d) Media Consumption : Vivid and beautiful screen + Good Speakers (especially amongst Windows laptops)
e) Fast Charger
f) Optional choice : I wanted a laptop with all I/O ports : This laptop comes with all and additional ROG XG Mobile Port. (Very important)
Cons : If you need even better screen and are a richie, you may spend 40k bucks more to get an advance version with Mini LED screen and Nvidia 3060. Nevertheless graphics performance can be compensated if you purchase ROG XG mobile additionally.
Conclusion : No Brainers if you have 1.7 bucks. Go for it !

I bought this laptop in August 2022 and I am writing a review in March 2023.
Since the day I bought this laptop, I am facing issues and have got it serviced 4 times.
Even your data is not secure because everytime something happens, you have to get your laptop formatted. Never buy anything from Asus ever again.
