Ich stehe noch am Anfang einer größeren Sicherung von Foots, sowohl im RAW- als auch im JEPG-Format. Bisher habe ich lediglich 500 GB an Fotos auf dieser externen Festplatte gesichert. Das ging bisher mit meinem HP-Rechner unter Windows 11 mit USB-C Anschluss recht schnell und gut und ich konnte die Fotos auch problemlos weiterverwenden. Die Zugriffe sind allerdings sehr deutlich zu hören.
Was mich weniger erfreut ist die Tatsache, dass bei der 12 TB Festplatte nur 10,9 TB zur Speicherung der Nutzerdaten zur Verfügung stehen. Hier versuchen die Marketingleute wohl ihr Produkt aufzuhübschen, indem sie anscheinend glaubhaft machen wollen, dass die bei mir angezeigten 11.999.725.486.080 Byte ≈ 12 TByte wären. Dem ist aber keineswegs so. Es sind 1 Kbyte = 1024 Byte, d.h. 1 Mbyte = 1024 x 1024 = 10242 Byte und 1 TByte = 10244 Byte = 1.099.511.627.776 Byte. Folglich sind die angezeigten 11.999.725.486.080 Byte ≈ 10,9 TByte, hingegen wären echte 12 TByte = 13.194.139.533.312 Byte, die aber zumindest bei meiner Festplatte nicht als nutzbarer Speicher zur Verfügung stehen.

Funciona bien, no he tenido ningún problema.
Únicamente tarda mucho en montarse en el Mac, aunque entiendo que puede ser por dos razones:
a) porque es mucha capacidad
b) porque mi Mac es antiguo y solo dispone de puerto USB-A. Supongo que en ordenadores más modernos con USB más rápido irá mejor.

So easy, plugged into power, plugged into ish 3.2 and instantly had almost 12tb of space.
A roomy vault to handle anything.
The usb b and c ports in the front are brilliant for charging and provide extra ports so you don’t lose any when plugging it into your pc.
It isn’t small, as wide as my tower but it sits on top of said tower and I have a stand for my headset atop that.
All in all, very happy with this Seagate drive.

The drive works well, but it is brand new, so I can’t say how well it will work in the future. However, buyers should know that overseas vendors can purchase this product and sell it on Amazon. If you buy it on Amazon, Seagate may not honor the warranty if the vendor is from outside the United States. Seagate very graciously made changes to my registration to allow me to have the warranty through Seagate, not the Amazon vendor. If I did not contact Seagate and ask, however, I would never have known this about the warranty being affected by where the drive was purchased.
