I got this drive to replace a 10-year old 8TB Backup Plus Hub. It still worked fine, and was at just over half capacity, but after ten years, I decided it was time to replace it.
I’m a bit confused, though. I have read many reviews of this drive which complain about how noisy it is. I find this drive to be one of the quietest external deives that I’ve ever used. Maybe it’s the 10TB model, I don’t know, but the old version was far noisier.
It is not the fastest drive, but I don’t need my backup drive to be ultra-fast. Too bad they didn’t use a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, though.
It is a good drive. The old version lasted more than ten years, so I have high hopes for this one. Recommended.

Compré este disco duro porque necesitaba espacio para almacenar mis trabajos de vídeo y fotografía y en principio todo iba bien pero justo después de hacer algunas transferencias de archivos me di cuenta del nivel de ruido que emitía ( y algunos nada normales). Lo devolví a los 2 días porque no me generó confianza. No repetí porque le cogí algo de idea. La marca es muy confiable y me gusta, pero en esta ocasión no ha cumplido mis expectativas.

Très réussi d’un point de vu design. Il peut facilement rester sur un bureau sans gâcher la décoration et ses entrée en façade le rendent très pratique. Une discrète diode blanche (Style Apple TV) signale son fonctionnement Ce n’est pas trouver le disque particulièrement rapide mais c’était pas mon besoin. Je l’utilise pour de l’archivage longue durée. Enfin, je le trouve plutôt discret lors de l’écriture. C’est appréciable surtout s’il doit rester près de soi sur un bureau.
Bémol, l’offre Adobe fonctionne très mal lors de l’enregistrement, j’ai perdu 2h avec le SAV Seagate et un nombre interminable de mail… UN SAV déplorable qui ne parle pas correctement français, mais plutôt du franglais au point que c’est difficile d’échanger et de se comprendre. C’est vraiment dommage.
En somme, achetez le disque pour lui-même, pas pour les offres autour !
