I’ve tried on LG G8x, and the following features are working ok:-
1. TV out feature via HDMI. You can watch pics, videos, apps, etc. I’m using an old non smart TV which is 1080p, 60fps, its working in native resolution! Even old apps are doing good. You can get a copy of the Android screen on the TV, or, read point 2… 2. You can also opt for a computer like mode, called DEX Mode, when doing HDMI out. Working great. Android apps adjust accordingly, can be maximised, minimised, etc. 3. Using USB Keyboard is possible, using up and down keys, and shortcuts such as Win key+ Backspace, you can use all the operations on the phone using keyboard. 4. Mouse can be attached. A small mouse pointer appears on screen. 5. Pendrive are working ok. Both USB 2 and USB 3 tested from Kingston and Sandisk respectively.
A couple of things that didn’t work are: 1. My 2TB portable hard disk didn’t work. It got power as the light lit up, but it didn’t work as such. 2. Anything connected to mini USB-C port didn’t work, I guess it was a charging only port.
I also have a Redmi Note 7 Pro and its TV out function didn’t work, although yes, the keyboard and mouse work ok. Although cheaper adaptors exist, one from a reliable brand like Amkette is totally worth the price. I’ll keep experimenting and updating this post, also I’ll add TV out images.

The HDMI port is working fine. I use the USB port for wireless Keyboard / mouse, there is either a lag/frequent disconnection.
