“The bag has to be right.” For those that have a specific list of features and design expectations in everyday luggage, please give this laptop backpack an audition – I did and it is without a doubt the best bag I have and have had over lots of years of carrying “stuff.” I work at a school and getting the laptop back and forth from home is a must – this bag handles all of that perfectly. The compartment at the top of the bag is a great feature – I stash my mouse and other “quick grab” items up there – someone was thinking when they added this – I detest having to fish around in the bottom of a pack – never again. If it’s about the computer, this is quick set-up and do what you need to do. The pack is sturdy all the way around and the molle attachment loops are a welcome addition to a pack – you can see in the photo that I’ve added a clip (3D printed by my spouse!) on which I hang a couple sets of keys – no more fishing in the pockets of a jacket or the interior of the bag. It’s nice to have a place to lash some rain gear. The bottle pockets – again – someone was on it. They are sturdy – the photo shows a coffee thermos on one side and an umbrella on the other – they are also deep enough such that the stuff stays where you put it. Other bags with just that net stuff? Nope. This bag with the full canvas pockets – yes, indeed. The material of this bag is such that it does not lose its shape nor does it feel too rigged – this is the Goldi Locks bag, certainly. I ride a bike often and this bag meets all the requirements for a comfortable ride while carrying work stuff. The second photo demonstrates that it also makes a fine cat bed.

When I bought mine the price was half of what it sells for now. Back then I thought it was a decent deal as I was not pleased with the poor amount of space within the backpack, but for the price I figured “you get what you pay for”. But now, at the price of some lower end camping backpacks that really push the limits well on space / carrying capacity, it’s not worth it. So… the review reflects current day prices and options, not when I bought it about 1 year ago. Inflation I guess? Would be nice if they inflated the carrying capacity to go along with the cost! Make better use of your money and purchase a larger bag even if it’s more expensive. Amazon Basics has some and the site has many other options. Not trying to slam Amazon Basics, but you can get find something more “premium” on Amazon for just 10% more on the price they are offering this item for. Aside from that, I still use this backpack daily and do my best to keep it clean. Wiping it with a damp cloth and hanging it up when not in use keeps it as green as the day I got it. Do not set it down on any damp area, it will soak up water like a sponge.

I bought this bag originally for work and then I brought it to the store while I was grocery shopping and let me tell you i can fit a lot of grocies in my bag (without breaking or crushing anything) with room to spare. i use it every day for work and home and it hasnt let me down yet. i even went out of my way to buy another one just for the missus.

The material that makes up this bag seems pretty nice compared to other bags I’ve previously owned. I have no complaints on its durability or its composition. I mainly use this bag twice a week to carry specific gear I have for table tennis and it’s served that purpose really well. I enjoy the simplicity of the pocket layouts, as well as the pockets that are available. I’ve found that there’s just enough pockets for all the different things that I carry. I also appreciate that the large pocket is big enough to carry some shoes that I use. My only real complaint with the bag is the top pocket. It’s nice that the pocket is made for quick access items and it’s fairly prominent being at the top, but when the pocket is actually loaded, the backpack easily topples over. It even makes leaning the backpack with the strap side to the wall difficult since the bag is inclined to lean towards the opposite side. This complain is by no means a dealbreaker, but it is something to keep in mind. Functionally, this backpack accomplishes what it needs to.

This pack was a bargain,so cheap I was expecting it to fall apart in no time but a month or two later and it’s going strong,carried some weight with it too,a MacBook Pro and iPad,iPhone & my e bike charger,& all chargers/cables,a battery pack etc some bike tools,wash bag and a couple of items of clothes,stuff that folds small. Coat can go outside.
The molle is excellent and has taken all bits I’ve tried – grimlock biners to annexed compartments. Even a couple of nitize’s 24” “gear ties” work a treat if bent over & slid into two channels,you can then bend them to hold whatever or use them to hook bungees on if you strap pack down (to a rack for example). I have a wee cargo net that comes in handy for my jacket etc if packs full. Just stuff it in under the net. The side pockets and top pocket are all handy. Wallet keys and a cable/power pack in the top – side can take bigger power packs with a phone or a drink bottle,the other has a zippered pocket good for my net and a few other bits,then I fill out the pocket with bike tool & lights. Hauling!
Not sure how long it’ll last to a more expensive equivalent with all new hardware like fidlock buckles and aqua guard zips but for the price they all perform well. I was shocked just how cheap it was – paid about £13! If your after a midsize pack for a song this is well worth a look.
Most molle bits can be got cheaply and that really makes this pack far more adaptable than anything else I’ve had at any price. I spent more on molle accessories alone lol. Nice fabric and lovely range of colours (I got green) grey looks good to me so I’ll get that if/when this one starts to go or looks to tatty for my liking.
Only negative is no rain cover so in a proper monsoon like downpour it will let in a bit – it’s ok in a short shower but in winter in England you may want to get a cheap rain cover off eBay. I’d of liked one that matches the pack – not the usual hi vis covers most commonly seen.
