I want to preface this by saying the 5 star rating is in comparison to other similar keyboards. This isn’t a mechanical keyboard and it doesn’t claim to be, so I’m not comparing as such.

I write for a living–some weeks I might pull 25,000 words depending on what’s going on. After going through a number of cheap Logitech keyboards over the course of a couple years, I picked up a mechanical. Then, my mechanical was having some issues and I needed to replace it but it wasn’t in the budget. I needed something cheap that would put up with regular use and figured I could toss in a bag if I was going somewhere and didn’t want to use my laptop keyboard.

I’m glad I picked this one. It sees far more use than I ever intended and it’s held up like a champ. After a few months of regular use, the keys still have their lettering, they’re all still responsive and more importantly, I’ve had zero problems with hand cramps or wrist pain.

Unlike many basic budget keyboards, the key layout on this one is fairly untouched, while still making room for media controls. There’s not a ton of hotkeys, but the ones there are actually useful.

I enjoy the feel of the keys. They’re not mushy like a membrane keyboard but aren’t nearly as tactile as my favorite Cherry Blues. For the price, the typing experience is stellar.

This isn’t a quiet keyboard by any stretch, but it’s also a far cry from the clickety-clack of a mechanical. I can still pick up keystrokes when recording with my headset mic, but it’s a background noise and no intrusive on the audio side.

One issue I could see if-if you’re not happy with the angle of the keyboard. It’s not adjustable in any way, but fortunately for me, it’s a great fit for my normal typing angle. The grippy sections have no trouble keeping the keyboard firmly planted on my glass top desk either..

Very happy with my purchase and will likely pick up a spare to have around just in case.

Upon regular usage of 6/8 months, multiple keys started going bad. And as of 12 months after purchasing – majority of the keys are not working at all. They press still the same mechanically but doesn’t type anything.

For more than 3 months I’ve tried to connect with CloudTail Services @ Amazon. They’ve raised their hands in regards with warranty. Saying the Seller needs to fulfill any warranty requests.

Eventually I tried connecting with Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd. – and their IVR @ customer care no. doesn’t even work to let me connect with someone who I can talk to, so now after many trials – i still haven’t even been able to talk to anyone who can acknowledge my warranty/complaint.

And just like that 12 month warranty period get over. Now I’ve lost all hopes of getting it replaced or any other probable resolution.

1300/- bucks, what a pathetic waste.

If they’re importing products, or making their own in India.
I still despise, these Sellers, Customer Care businesses, Quality Control @ Manufacturing/Purchasing departments, and even Amazon to an extent.

Everyone just wants to sell Use-n-Throw products.
    F, why?

What can be said about a bare-bones no-frills computer keyboard? Lots. First this a plug-and-play wired QWERTY keyboard. Advantages: Reliable performance, clearly marked keys, small workspace footprint. It is ideal as a desktop backup or for those whose laptop computer has a small confusing key array. Wireless keyboards may be convenient, but a single wireless keyboard can churn through a huge number of batteries every year. Disposal of those batteries is not only environmentally unfriendly but Murphy’s Law says the batteries will die at the most inopportune times (think mission-critical deadlines). A wired keyboard avoids all that. This keyboard needs to be seriously considered by both two-fingered keyboardists and those who keyboard using the legendary Columbus Method (when you think you’ve found what you’re looking for, land on it). Gamers and whiz-bang ten-fingered keyboardists need to look elsewhere for a fancier keyboard. This keyboard has all the usual keys in the usual places including a key for the Windows calculator and a key not commonly found: for Windows “My Computer”. That key will be often used by those with a multi-partition system, which admittedly is not a majority of people. Next to that key is amusement, a key which calls forth Windows Media Player. Really. Now no one I have ever met actually uses WMP. Not when there’s *vastly* superior freeware readily available (think WinAmp for audio and VLC Player for video – google them). There’s even special volume control keys for WMP. You have to wonder what the designers of this keyboard were thinking. Speaking of volume, I’ve found the main all-purpose volume control buttons (located elsewhere) are often, but not always, slow to respond. This slowness is not the fault of the keyboard, but the poor design of Windows. Given the inexpensive price of this keyboard, have it kicking around in the event of an accident disabling your usual keyboard. (Ever spill a coffee on a keyboard? Ouch. RIP keyboard. It happens more often than you think.) Or get this keyboard for an inept child still struggling with basic keyboarding. Come to think of it, there’s a few adults in that category, too.

Note: This review was written with this keyboard. All errors and typos are the fault of the keyboardist and not the keyboard.

The keyboard works fine with computer but in ipad, I couldn’t select all, cut, copy and paste using either the direct function keys or ctrl+a/x/c/v.
Turns out ios needs configuration for windows keyboard like this. In case anyone else has this issue, it’s solvable through settings. The keyboard works fine after.

Good layout and design. US/international keyboard (no need to reprogram keys). Wired USB (secure. Robust (I go through keyboards they way other people go through breakfast cereal). Large, centered character marking (easy to see the keys). A single, form-fit riser (no little legs, which always break). Inexpensive (no reason to spend £20 million for a keyboard). All you need to know is that the pound sign (£) is Alt-156. No need to ever use a UK keyboard again.

Was using Logitech K120 keyboard for years. Ordered this Amazonbasics keyboard as a replacement to my old Logitech keyboard. Here is my unbiased feedback:

    Plus
    + Cheaper
+ Sturdy / more weight than logitech so gives solid feeling – I like it
+ keys are so soft / less height keys (technical name : low profile keys)
+ key stroke performance is good no issues
    + stylish

    Minus
+ Though keyboard dimension is same as logitech, actually keys are smaller than it. Reason being they gave gap between each keys – I really don’t have any idea why. Being known typewriting, I really don’t understand why amazon has to put space in between keys. When we type we go from one to another key by skating through the keys and this gap is a problem. So not giving good typewriting feeling to me – sorry amazon.
+ I expected some gap between F4 and F5 for easily going to F5 key without have to look at the keyboard. But no space 🙁 I feel like it is designed for some one who don’t know type writing and have to see the keyboard every time.

Please follow same design as used by logitech/dell/microsoft. DOn’t create your design amazon 🙁 This is not toy and we need to see same design for easy navigation that we learnt for years and years.

3 stars because it is value for money — can be used at home for non-typing people.

I am using this keyboard for over a year and i must say it is a very efficient to use and utility wise the best keyboard for general works. In terms of gaming it’s latency is low but i would not say it as very good for gaming, it can be used for just daily life work on pc easing the problem of cable management. And another best thing it’s very easy to carry.
