Bought these September 11, 2022 . August 16, 2023 had to trash them. The major issue is the wiring just above and/or below the volume control. Seems very fragile and this is the breaking point, literally.
After handling these, using the volume control, the wire degrades and becomes hard and brittle. This is what is making the wires inside crumble to the point that there is no sound from one or both sides, or the volume control dies.
I’ve had 4 of these, and each one lasted 1 year. Why do I keep buying it? Because I like how they feel on my head, easy to control volume, and it works with both my PC and phone when I use it for the mic. They don’t fit TIGHT to my ears as others do because I wear computer glasses.
This next pair I buy, I’ll put either shrink tube or electrical tape several inches above and below the control.
